Atty. Jesus M. Manalastas obtained his Master of Laws from the University of Pennsylvania in 1977. He received his Bachelor of Laws, Cum Laude (Class Valedictorian), at the University of the Philippines in 1972 and obtained the second highest score grade in the Bar examinations given that same year. He received his Bachelor of Arts, Magna Cum Laude, at De La Salle University in 1968. He was the Editor-In-Chief of The La Sallian (De La Salle) in 1967-1968 and Vice-Chairman of the Philippine Law Journal (UP College of Law) from 1971 to 1972. He was a consistent member of the Jose Rizal Honors Society at De La Salle and the Order of the Purple Feather at the UP College of Law. He is a member of the international honor societies of Phi Kappa Phi and Pi Gamma Mu. Mr. Manalastas, original member of PECABAR, started his career in 1973 as an assistant attorney in a major law firm where he worked his way to partnership in 1979.He is a member of the International Bar Association (Section of Business Law), and the Wharton Club of the Philippines. He is currently a member of the Board of Directors of Hotel Philippine Plaza, Financial Times (Phils.), and Norsk Hydro (Phils.).
He was the Managing Partner from 1996 to 2008 and currently the Chairman of the Executive Committe as Head of the Retainers Group.

After placing twelfth in the 1971 Bar Examinations, Atty. Reyes joined one of the bigger law firms in the Philippines in 1972. He rose to become senior partner in 1980 until he became one of the original founding members of PECABAR. He has served as member of the Board of Directors and/or Corporate Secretary of companies engaged in varied areas of business such as banking, investment banking, telecommunications, insurance, broadcast media, car assembly and distribution, tourism services, marketing of consumer products, commodity futures trading and manufacturing. Survey reports of legal practice in the Philippines acknowledge him as among the leading practitioners in the areas of merger and acquisition and in commercial and civil litigation. He received his Bachelor of Laws Degree from the University of the Philippines in 1981. He was admitted to the Philippine Bar in 1982. He received his Bachelor of Arts degree, Major in Economics in 1977 from the De La Salle University, as a Government Full Scholar and a member of the Jose Rizal Honors Society. He is a lifetime member and former Lord Chancellor of the Alpha Phi Beta Fraternity of the University of the Philippines.
He started his law practice in1982 in a boutique law firm with a niche practice in civil, criminal and commercial litigation or dispute resolution, and became one of the first associate attorneys of PECABAR in 1983. He was chosen to head PECABAR’s Intellectual Property and Administrative Department as a Senior Associate, and of the Litigation Department as a Junior Partner. Aside from dispute resolution, he acquired peculiar skills in providing effective solutions to regulatory issues, especially in telecommunications. He rose to be a Senior Partner and was unanimously elected by the partners as the Firm’s Managing Partner for 2008, concurrently as head of the Firm’s Litigation Department.
He is a member of the Integrated Bar of the Philippines (IBP) and served as President of the Ifugao Chapter for two (2) terms. He is also a member of the Intellectual Property Association of the Philippines (IPAP) and co-founded practice-related professional organizations, like the Telecommunications and Broadcasting Association of the Philippines (TELEBAP) and the APAAP.

He received his Bachelor of Science in Business Management from the University of the Philippines as a Full State Scholar.
He started his law practice in 1998 in a law firm specializing in civil, criminal and commercial litigation. He joined the Litigation Department of PECABAR in 2001 as a Junior Associate. He was promoted to Senior Associate in 2004 and was admitted as a Partner in 2005. He is presently the Assistant Head of the Litigation Department of PECABAR.
He has a very extensive practice in the areas of civil, commercial and criminal litigation, as well as commercial and construction dispute arbitration. He has advised and represented some of the country’s leading companies engaged in varied areas of business such as banking, insurance, construction and real estate development, hotel and tourism services, retail and marketing of consumer products.
In 2010, He became the Firm’s Managing Partner and head of the Litigation Department.
