Juan Ponce Enrile

He is currently a Senator of the Republic of the Philippines. He received his Bachelor of Laws from the University of the Philippines in 1953 where he graduated Cum Laude and salutatorian. He took his oath as a member of the bar in 1954. He ranked no. 11 among the successful bar candidates with a rating of 91.72%. He made a perfect score of 100% in Commercial Law. In 1955, he obtained his Master of Laws from Harvard Law School with specialization in taxation and corporate reorganization. He practiced for twelve years (from 1954 to 1966) as a law partner in Ponce Enrile Siguion Reyna Montecillo Belo and Ongsiako Law Offices. He was also a Professor of Law at the Far Eastern University College of Law from 1956 to 1964. In January 1966, he entered public service as Undersecretary of Finance. Thereafter, he was made Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Philippine National Bank. He was also designated as concurrent Acting Commisioner of the Insurance Commission where, during his stint, he revised many of the rules and regulations to make the insurance industry more reliable and stable. Thereafter, he became Acting Commissioner of Customs until December 1968.

While in the Finance Department, he was also appointed Acting Secretary of Finance and concurrent Chairman of the Monetary Board of the Central Bank of the Philippines. In December 1968, Juan Ponce Enrile was appointed Secretary of Justice a position he held until February 9, 1970. Thereafter, he was appointed as Secretary of National Defense until August 1971 when he resigned to run for the Philippine Senate. He was reappointed Secretary of National Defense in January 1972 and served in that capacity until November 26, 1986. Mr. Ponce is currently a Senator of the Republic of the Philippines with a six-year term from 2010-2016. He had previously served for three terms in the Philippine Senate, from 1987 to 1992; 1995 to 2001 and 2004 to 2010. He also served in the House of Representatives as Representative of the first district of Cagayan from 1992 to 1995.

Senator Enrile is affiliated with the Philippine Constitutional Association; Philippine Tax Institute, Knights of Rizal, Harvard Club of the Philippines, International Chamber of Commerce of the Philippines, Philippine Jaycees Senate and the Manila Overseas Press Club, among others.

Joseph B. Sagandoy

photo jbs2He obtained his Bachelor of Laws from the University of the Philippines in 1997 and passed the Bar Examinations given that same year. He took his oath as a member of the Philippine Bar in 1998. He received his Bachelor of Science in Business Management from the University of the Philippines as a Full State Scholar.

He started his law practice in 1998 in a law firm specializing in civil, criminal and commercial litigation. He joined the Litigation Department of PECABAR in 2001 as a Junior Associate. He was promoted to Senior Associate in 2004 and was admitted as a Partner in 2005. He is presently the Assistant Head of the Litigation Department of PECABAR.

He has a very extensive practice in the areas of civil, commercial and criminal litigation, as well as commercial and construction dispute arbitration. He has advised and represented some of the country’s leading companies engaged in varied areas of business such as banking, insurance, construction and real estate development, hotel and tourism services, retail and marketing of consumer products.

In 2010, he became the Firm’s Managing Partner and head of the Litigation Department.

Edwardson L. Ong

eloMr. Ong obtained his Juris Doctor degree, Second Honors, from the Ateneo de Manila University School of Law in 2003. He obtained his Bachelor of Arts in Management Economics from the Ateneo de Manila University in  1999. Mr. Ong was admitted to the Philippine Bar in 2004, and New York Bar in 2011.

Mr. Ong joined the Firm in 2004, and has since worked on a wide variety of cases, including complex business disputes. He currently handles cases pending before various courts, and advises clients on different aspects of civil, commercial and criminal law.

Mr. Ong is currently the head of the Firm's Litigation Department. He was promoted as Senior Associate in 2009, and as Partner in 2014.

Marforth T. Fua

Mr. Fua obtained his Bachelor of Laws from San Beda College, Mendiola in 2007. He received his Bachelor of Arts in Philosophy from De La Salle University in 2001.

After passing and placing 8th in the 2007 Bar Examinations, Mr. Fua joined the Firm in 2008 as Associate. He was promoted to Senior Associate in 2011, and to Partner in 2014.

Mr. Fua has handled civil, commercial and construction disputes involving billions of pesos. He is currently the head of the Firm's Retainer Department and Labor Department. He is also the Partner-in-Charge of the Firm's Human Resource Department.
